Warranty Information

SOFTBOARDS

Warranty

All RYD Soft Boards are guaranteed for 6 months from date of purchase against any defects in materials and workmanship. This does not include damage due to abuse or natural wear and tear. While you might get kudos from your mates by towing behind a 4 x 4, it’s not something we are able to replace for! To make a claim, return the product and sales receipt to the place of purchase – check out our returns policy for more information.

Care

Be aware not to leave your softboards baking in the sun for lengthy periods of time, whether direct or in a closed vehicle. The heat and UV rays will destroy everything over time. Your board (like your skin) will last longer and perform better with protection, so make sure you keep your board in the shade and covered on the beach whenever you’re not in the water.

Disclaimer

Surfing inherently involves some risk of injury or drowning. Buyers accept full responsibility for any actions that may lead to personal injury, economic loss, social distress, other losses, costs and damages. We strongly recommend use in designated surfing areas and that you understand water safety and currents.

RYD Brand International is under no circumstances liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages resulting from the use of its products, whether damages arise due to correct use or misuse of products or information provided.

Spending time in the ocean or water requires respect and some understanding of water safety. If you do not have any prior experience, are unfamiliar with ocean or water conditions, we advise that you seek the support of a trained and experienced surf school who understands the ocean, water safety and the use of surfing equipment. Surf within your abilities and surf safely!

TRACTION

Warranty

All RYD Traction is guaranteed for two years against factory and material defects, as well as workmanship. This does not cover incorrect application, natural wear-and-tear, neglect or abuse. To make a warranty claim simply return the product and sales receipt to the place of purchase. If it was purchased form an online store, please follow their customer service steps regarding store returns and warranties.

Care

Clean the surface of the board before the traction is applied for the first time. Follow correct application instructions - the 3M adhesive we've selected for our entire range of traction achieves maximum adhesion when pressure is applied during application. Followed by allowing sufficient curing time. We suggest applying your grip the night before your first surf on your new stick.

Our high-density EVA grips are formulated to give the perfect amount of grip for the duration, which means there’s no need to wax your grip. A hard block of wax can be abrasive and can lead to traction nodules lifting off or smoothing down.

LEASHES

Warranty

All RYD Leashes are guaranteed for two years against factory and material defects, as well as workmanship. This does not include damage due to abuse, fin cuts or natural wear-and-tear. To make a claim return product and sales receipt to the place of purchase. If it was purchased form an online store, please follow their customer service steps regarding store returns and warranties.

Care

To avoid permanent kinks in the cord, avoid wrapping it around your board and fins. A straighter cord means less tangles around your foot.

With multiple raw compounds of urethane available, we've carefully sourced and selected the strongest compound available, the result of 25 years of research and development.

Having said that, no leash on this planet is immune to being slammed in the boot of your car or being used as board tie-downs. Small cuts and blemishes in your cord will reduce its resistance to breaking and will leave you with a false sense of poor materials.

If you've got the comfort of a freshwater shower after your surf, give the rail saver and cuff a quick rinse to ensure maximum longevity. After every few surfs, check your cord for small abrasions and or cuts. The last thing you want in a serious situation is equipment failure that could have been prevented by properly checking your equipment.

Each leash style comes with wave height recommendations. It goes without saying that you shouldn’t be using a small wave leash in medium to large waves. You get the drift.

Disclaimer

This leash is used at your own risk and should not be relied upon as a lifesaving device. It must not be used as a substitute for good swimming ability, ocean knowledge or taking proper precautions. The manufacturer, distributer and seller expressly disclaim any liability for injury, death, property damage or other loss or damage suffered by any person as a consequence of the use of this leash

FINS

Warranty

All RYD fins are guaranteed for one year against factory and material defects, as well as workmanship. This guarantee does not cover incorrect insertion, natural wear-and-tear, neglect, abuse or alterations to the product. To make a warranty claim simply return the product and sales receipt to the place of purchase. If it was purchased from an online store, please follow their customer service steps regarding store returns and warranties.

Care

Rinse the fins with freshwater after your surf session, this ensure that any sand (which might scratch the fins or get into the boxes) is flushed away. Always remove your fins and place them in a fin wallet when travelling.

Disclaimer

RYD fins are used at your own risk  The manufacturer, distributer and seller expressly disclaim any liability for injury, death, property damage or other loss or damage suffered by any person as a consequence of the use of these fins.  By nature fins are sharp and accidents happen - surfing is a high risk activity after all - so take precautional measures where possible, like covering your head with your arms during big wipeouts.

SKATEBOARDS

Warranty

RYD warrants its consumable skateboard parts against defects and workmanship for the first 30 days from purchase.

Unfortunately, used, broken, warped, twisted, and damaged decks are not covered under our skateboard warranty policy. Let’s face it, wood is a natural material sensitive to exposure to environmental conditions such as humidity, temperature extremes and improper storage such as in direct sun, a cold or damp garage, hot car, etc. However, if your deck arrives out the box with any of the above defects, be sure to let us know and we’ll replace before  use.

Any physical modifications to shape or bolt hole patterns, visible damage due to contact with vehicles or obstacles or improper exposure to water, rain or mud voids the manufacturer’s warranty.

With our roots in surf, many of our customers live near the ocean where salty air and sand can get into the mechanics. From time to time this can inhibit the turning mechanism of the wheels, causing a restriction in its turning capabilities. It’s the one time that sand is not really our friend. If not maintained with recommended lubricants, the wheels performance might be compromised. No warranty claims will be accepted if the product has been mistreated, so please be kind to your boards.

Our Truck  guarantee does not cover breakage or wear due to:

  • Damage caused by accident, improper care or installation, negligence, drilling or tampering with the original design.
  • Normal wear and tear, or cosmetic damage that does not affect functionality, such as scratches, rust or corrosion.
  • Consumable truck components that can wear out or break from normal use, such as bushings, pivot cups, kingpins, thrust bearings, links and springs.
  • Consumable Skateboard parts such as wood decks, grip tape, risers, wheels and wheel bearings.

Care

Here's a few tips for good maintenance:

For wheels: we recommended to rotate front wheels to back when signs of wear are evident. This will increase the wheel life and give you a many more hours of fun!

Bearings: replace when there are signs of friction within the bearings. This will be mainly due to dirt and sand finding their way in there over time. It’s a quick fix for long term benefits!

Disclaimer

RYD skateboards are used at your own risk  The manufacturer, distributer and seller expressly disclaim any liability for injury, death, property damage or other loss or damage suffered by any person as a consequence of the use of these skateboards. You only have one noggin, so make sure you look after it!
